1. The service

Mental Math is a mental arithmetic practice app. Bootcamp offers coach-picked focus sets, a level ladder per operation, times tables and mistake review and measures your Skill Rating; Arcade offers quick games with personal bests and Game Center leaderboards; the Progress Hub shows your statistics. Our server keeps summaries of your sessions and delivers practice reminders. Features may change over time; we will not remove your access to your own data.

2. No account, your data

Mental Math needs no account. Your device is identified anonymously; you are responsible for the devices you use. Your practice history, statistics and scores remain yours, and you can delete them at any time under Settings → Delete Account.

3. Availability

We work to keep the server features available but cannot promise uninterrupted operation. Maintenance, updates, failures of hosting or network providers and circumstances beyond our control may interrupt them. Practice, games and your local history keep working without a connection; leaderboards and reminders catch up when it returns.

4. Mental Math Pro and prices

Mental Math is free to download and shows ads in the free version. Mental Math Pro is a one-time in-app purchase that unlocks all Bootcamp levels and coach-picked sets and removes the ads, for as long as the app is offered; it does not renew and there is no subscription. Prices are shown in the App Store and in the app before you buy. Purchases are made through Apple's App Store under Apple's terms, which also govern billing, restoring purchases and refunds. If you bought a Mental Math Pro subscription in an earlier version, it keeps running under the terms you accepted then and can be cancelled at any time in your Apple ID settings; it ends at the end of the current period.

5. Right of withdrawal

Consumers in the European Union have a 14-day right of withdrawal for distance contracts. For purchases made through the App Store, Apple handles withdrawals and refunds; request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. For anything bought directly from us, write to contact@coffee-bytes.io within 14 days of the purchase.

6. Acceptable use and fair play

You agree not to:

• overload, probe or disrupt our server, or access it other than through Mental Math;
• attempt to access data of other installations or players;
• manipulate scores, Skill Ratings or Game Center leaderboards, for example through modified apps or automation;
• remove copyright notices or redistribute the illustrations, texts or other material outside the app.

Open-source components bundled with Mental Math remain under their own licences. Game Center is subject to Apple's terms.

7. Intellectual property

Mental Math, its name, the mascot and illustrations, texts, exercises and designs are protected by copyright and trademark law and belong to Coffee Bytes LDA or its licensors. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use Mental Math on devices you own or control, under Apple's licence terms for apps obtained from the App Store.

8. Liability

We are liable without limit for damage caused intentionally or by gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, and wherever the law does not allow liability to be limited. In all other cases our liability is limited to the damage that was foreseeable and typical when these terms were agreed, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost practice history where you turned off the backups the system offers. Mandatory consumer rights under the law of the country you live in remain unaffected. Mental Math is a practice app, not an educational certificate or a medical product; a Skill Rating is a statistic about your sessions and nothing more.

9. Termination

You may stop using Mental Math at any time; deleting the app removes its local data, and Settings → Delete Account removes what our server holds. We may suspend or end access to the server features with reasonable notice if these terms are violated, or if the service is discontinued, in which case we will give at least two months' notice and the app will keep working with local data. Pro purchases made through the App Store are governed by Apple's refund rules.

10. Changes to these terms

We may change these terms when the service changes or the law requires it. Material changes will be announced in the app at least two months before they take effect; if you do not agree, you may stop using the service before that date. Continued use after the date means you accept the new terms.

11. Governing law and disputes

Portuguese law applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. If you are a consumer, the mandatory consumer protection rules of the country where you live also apply, and you may bring claims in the courts of that country. Consumers in Portugal may use the electronic complaints book at livroreclamacoes.pt and the consumer dispute resolution bodies listed at consumidor.gov.pt. Should a provision of these terms be invalid, the remaining provisions stay in force.
